Director, Enterprise Architecture

As an Director, Enterprise Architecture at Capital One, you will be leading a team of 5 solution architects, working with software and data engineering teams, guiding architecture of associate-facing banking products; owning and facilitating architecture development; establishing destination-backed architecture strategy, reviewing architecture; providing feedback on application designs; providing input on company-wide initiatives; establishing patterns and practices for onboarding emerging technology, embedding in engineering teams to jump start complex projects;

and helping raise the talent bar by recruiting and hiring top engineering talent. You will also work with product owners to articulate benefits of proposed solutions; influence the technical roadmap of enterprise platforms; and help business prioritize work. In this role, the architect will help define and drive towards an end state that is based on simplicity and the adoption of digital technologies, cloud hosting, and enterprise platforms open source software.

* Be hands-on with Cloud Native Architectures, in particular architecting enterprise applications on public cloud such as AWS, GCP or Azure.

* Have excellent communication and reasoning skills, including the ability to make a strong case for technology choices.

* Basic Qualifications:

*** Bachelor's Degree
* At least 7 years of experience with enterprise architecture, software architecture, and design patterns
* At least 5 years of people management experience
* At least 3 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Master’s Degree
* 10+ years of experience of working with business leaders on the implications of architectural decisions
* 5+ years of experience with complex architectural patterns (SOA), building APIs, microservices, and event streams
* 5+ years experience with Dev Ops or Dev Sec Ops  and building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Chef, Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation templates, Git Hub, and Sonar
