Data Engineer
Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer (SQL Server Focus) for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX
. This role requires strong SQL Server engineering skills to design and optimize end-to-end data pipelines.
Rate Range: $56/hour to $58/hour. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data across SQL Server environments.
- Develop high-performance T-SQL code, optimize queries, and implement indexing, partitioning, and execution-plan tuning.
- Create and manage dimensional data models, including fact tables, conformed dimensions, and SCD Type 1/2 strategies.
- Ensure data pipeline reliability through orchestration, monitoring, data quality checks, alerting, and SLA adherence.
- Implement CI/CD practices using Git and automated deployment tools to version, test, and release database and pipeline changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality data solutions.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3–7+ years of professional experience in data engineering (adjustable based on client needs).
- Advanced SQL Server expertise, including T-SQL, performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and execution plan optimization.
- Proven experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, PySpark, or Airflow.

Pay Details: $56.00 to $58.00 per hour
