Duration
: 12 months with extension possible to 18 months

Work Shift: 2nd shift 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM CST

Pay Scale: $60-65/hr W2 (Cannot subcontract or C2C)

Job Description:

Matlen Silver is actively recruiting for an AS400 Production Support Engineer Consultant to work for our client's capital markets production support team to provide 2nd shift (11:00am-8:00pm CST) technical application support to end users throughout the U.S. This includes responding to issues related to Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, Application Monitoring, Production Governance related to issues.

Responsibilities:

• Provides monitoring and support for triaging AS400 iSeries problems and coordinating with various support teams across the organization including activities related to application incident and problem management.
• Performs root cause analysis and communicates with the line of business and management the overall status and health of the application throughout the support process.
• Looks for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed of determining root cause.
• Work closely with Technology Infrastructure Teams, Development & Testing Teams in supporting Integrated / Independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, server upgrades.
• Performs real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period.
• Assesses initial severity, gathers impacts, creates tickets in Remedy, engages necessary support teams, and escalates as necessary to ensure timely restoration.

Desired

Experience:

• Five (5) plus years of production support experience working with enterprise developed applications on AS400 iSeries.
• Hands on troubleshooting experience of UNIX/Linux OS and Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server)
• Experience with Geneos ITRS, Splunk, or Autosys nice to have
• ITIL certification recommended
• Exposure to Back and Front Office Operations in investment banking environment
