Lead Site Reliability Engineer (Dynatrace | Python | AWS; Onsite in Plano, TX)

Optomi, in partnership with the financial branch of a large manufacturing company, is seeking a Lead SRE to help build out their Applications Team. This SRE will ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of the applications within their domain. The role includes collaboration with developers, product owners, infrastructure SREs, production engineers, and technology operations center personnel, with a primary focus on improving observability, automation, overall system health, reliability, and uptime.

Experience of the right candidate:

• Experience with Dev Ops tools (Git Hub, Harness, Dynatrace).
• Experience building self-healing systems and automated remediation workflows.
• Strong experience with Terraform for AWS IaC.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation tools using Python.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Deep knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with Git Ops, secrets management, and infrastructure monitoring best practices.
• Experience building self-healing systems and automated remediation workflows.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation to streamline operations, reduce manual effort, and improve system efficiency through operational tooling and runbooks.
• Implement scalable, repeatable deployment strategies using CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub, Harness) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), while managing container orchestration and cloud-native platforms.
• Drive reliability engineering practices by defining and enforcing SLOs, SLAs, and error budgets aligned to business objectives, embedding SRE principles into application design and operations.
• Enhance observability and performance monitoring through Dynatrace and Cloud Watch, partnering with observability engineers to deliver actionable insights across applications and infrastructure.
• Lead major incident response and problem management efforts, conduct blameless post-incident reviews, contribute to architectural reviews, and foster cross-functional collaboration and team development.
