Database Administrator

Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate must have hands‑on Azure AD/Azure Key Vault expertise to support DR processes and optimize SQL Server performance through monitoring and tuning.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Administer and maintain SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, patching, and performance monitoring across production and non‑production environments.
• Manage high‑availability and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring RPO/RTO compliance through backups, restores, log shipping, Always On, and Azure AD/Azure Key Vault integrations.
• Monitor system health and performance using tools like Data Migration Assistant and Solar Winds DPA, proactively identifying and resolving issues in real time.
• Develop and refine database objects such as stored procedures, views, parameterized reports, and linked reports, supporting ETL pipelines and tuning developer queries.
• Automate routine tasks including maintenance, job scheduling, documentation updates, and deployment workflows, while ensuring strong SSRS reporting capabilities.
• Ensure security and compliance by implementing TLS/SSL, RBAC, data masking, encryption standards, and supporting HIPAA/PCI‑DSS requirements, while providing 24×7 production support.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of hands‑on SQL Server database administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server administration, including Azure AD/Azure Key Vault integration, HA/DR (RPO‑focused), performance tuning, monitoring tools (Data Migration Assistant, Solar Winds DPA), and backup/recovery.
• Proven ability to manage stored procedures, views, SSRS reporting, ETL pipelines, and implement security/compliance controls such as TLS/SSL, RBAC, data masking, HIPAA, and PCI‑DSS processes.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
