IT Project Manager
About the role
As an Engineering Manager, you will make an impact by leading engineering teams to deliver enterprise‑scale applications that raise the bar for performance, accessibility, and user experience. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and collaborate closely with product owners, cross‑functional teams, and executive stakeholders to deliver high‑quality digital solutions.
In this role, you will:- Lead engineering teams in building enterprise‑grade applications while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee Agile/Scrum processes and transformations, facilitating ceremonies and coaching teams to improve velocity and adaptability.
- Provide architectural direction and drive innovation, including implementation of modern frameworks such as micro‑frontends and server‑side rendering (SSR).
- Champion performance, accessibility, and quality—driving a 90+ Lighthouse score through code optimization, testing (Jest, Cypress, Playwright), and best‑practice engineering.
- Partner with vendors and manage resources, project milestones, budgets, and timelines while ensuring delivery excellence.

What you need to have to be considered:- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of professional experience.
- Proven experience managing full project life cycles (SDLC/Waterfall) from initiation through delivery.
- Expertise in Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban methodologies.
- Strong ability to define project scope, technical specifications, and resource allocation.
- Experience leading cross‑functional engineering teams of 8–12 members and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Advanced proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Git.
- Strong financial and quality governance skills.
- Experience deploying micro‑frontends, SSR, or similar modern architectures.
- Knowledgeable in Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and applying quality gates such as Sonar Qube.
- Proven success driving accessibility initiatives aligned with W3C and WCAG AAA standards.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical roadmaps.
- Vendor and partner management experience.

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $140,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
