Mgr Software Engineering

The Manager of Software Engineering is responsible managing a software development team and ensuring the successful completion of projects and tasks on time and on budget. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise and managerial skills.

• Manage a team that designs, builds, supports and optimizes APIs and microservices for financial system integration and data collection, storage and access ensuring high availability, scalability and security
• Create architectural and design solutions ensuring APIs and microservices align with Business strategies and requirements
• Ensures the creation and testing of clean, scalable, efficient and maintainable code that follows Devops practices
• Create, evaluate and improve software development processes to ensure code & data quality and adherence with IT & Data governance standards
• Ensures the creation and maintenance of API, microservice and process technical documentation
• Ensures and lead the resolution of production problems and architectural challenges
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using strong communication skills to understand and contribute to functional and technical specifications ensuring successful project completion

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
• 7+ years IT experience preferably in the financial industry; 2+ years technical leadership and management experience; knowledge of API Gateway tools, Microservices architecture, Docker and container tools and Cloud platforms; 7+ years API microservices development and support experience with Mulesoft using Java and Dataweave; 7+ years user requirements gathering/use case development experience; 7+ years SQL development and support experience; experience with technical writing/documentation;
  
  experience transforming from a manual process centric environment to a fully automated environment; experience with Agile development methodologies and tools, preferable Atlassian Jira (Scrum & Kanban), Confluence (documentation)) & Bit Bucket (Dev Ops); experience with a log aggregation, analysis & monitoring tool, Datadog is preferred; knowledge of IT & data governance, data privacy and security best practices
• Preferred:
  Knowledge or experience with Dashboard, Reporting & Workflow tools. Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI is preferred; knowledge or experience with automation tools, preferably Uipath; knowledge or experience with analytical & ML tools like Alteryx Auto Insights and Alteryx ML; knowledge with Generative AI technologies and integrating AI/ML models in production systems and APIs; familiarity with MLOps and tools for managing machine learning and generative models

• Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position
• Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs
