Overview
A financial services company in Plano has an immediate opening for a hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager. This role will lead/manage the helpdesk and Systems Administration services and provide Cyber Security and Network Configuration support for the company. This Manager will guide team members and perform complex and simple tasks in each of the areas as necessary.
What you will do- Lead and manage IT infrastructure team, including network, server, storage, and cloud operations.
- Execute infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals and IT service management best practices.
- Ensure standardization of solutions across the organization.
- Lead infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
- Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of all infrastructure components.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, monitoring, and proactive maintenance.
- Work with IT leadership to plan and implement new infrastructure or upgrades of existing IT infrastructure.
- Secure the company’s IT assets including software and hardware.
- Secure Firewalls, Network, Servers, PCs, Laptops and Mobile devices.
- Secure MS Azure cloud and AWS Cloud components and services.
- Handle security related aspects of Firewalls, switches, routers, VPN, remote management, security gateways, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), proxies, and endpoint protection systems.
- Lead efforts to implement secure access controls, identity management solutions, and segmentation policies.
- Lead efforts in developing, enforcing, and reviewing information security policies and procedures.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual activity using SIEM tools and respond to security alerts and incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts across relevant platforms.
- Help deploy network hardware and software with a security-first approach.
- Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends; recommend improvements to enhance the organization s security posture.
- Lead work efforts with cross-functional teams to support secure application and system deployment.
- Maintain documentation of network and security configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Protect the company by working directly with third party vendors on all Cyber Security projects – penetration tests, server patches, desktop / laptop patches (via WSUS) and network configuration.
- Install and upgrade computer and network components (switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs etc.) and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes (e.g., Microsoft WSUS).
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Experience with helpdesk support efforts to help make sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and network performance.
- Perform periodic bandwidth testing and ensure that network connectivity is optimized.
- Participate in budgeting and cost control for infrastructure initiatives.
- Provide leadership and mentoring for infrastructure team members.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on helpdesk, security and network administration experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of management experience with a team of direct reports managing helpdesk and sys admin functions.
- Experience installing and managing servers, desktops, laptops, and software patches.
- Experience conducting pen tests and fixing problems.
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of networking, security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery…
