Data Engineer
Position:
Sr. BI Developer – Information Technology
Work Location:
Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) – Dallas, TX (Plano, TX) / El Paso, TX / Arlington, TN / Marlborough, MA
What you will be doing:
- Elevate lives of employees by crafting analytical tools that drive decision‑making at every level of the organization.
- Understand HELE’s vision, strategies, and organizational priorities and customer needs.
- Build and propose solutions that enable data‑driven decision making within HELE.
- Design and implement robust Power BI architectures for organization‑wide self‑service reporting and ad‑hoc exploration.
- Define and implement a Power BI Center of Excellence in partnership with key partners.
- Build and lead key analytical assets, delegating and ensuring accountability to consultants/offshore resources.
- Drive adoption and use of agile methodologies for all activities.
- Design Dev Ops & project management methods including metrics and measures.
- Govern Power BI solutions with a business glossary, KPIs, and definitions.
- Guide and support team members and business users in building reports on top of scalable Power BI models.
- Stay updated with the latest data trends and technologies to enhance BI capabilities.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
- Ability to connect with various audiences across technical expertise levels.
- Strong planning, priority setting, and project‑management skills to balance multiple projects.
- Proven experience designing and implementing end‑to‑end Power BI solutions.
- Experience integrating with centralized data platforms, ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and governed data models.
- Prior knowledge of domains such as Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.
- Experience working within Agile methodology.
- Strong written and communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field.
- Over 7 years of experience in Business Intelligence.
- At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with Power BI as an enterprise platform.
- Proven experience designing end‑to‑end Power BI solutions in complex enterprise IT ecosystems.
- Experience integrating with ERP systems such as Oracle and governed data models.
- Ability to work across diverse groups and domains.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree/MBA.
- 2+ years leading BI teams or managing cross‑functional BI initiatives.
- Experience in CPG/Hard Goods/Retail industry.
- Knowledge of Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Experience designing modern data platform architectures.
- Experience managing a Power BI Center of Excellence.
