DevOps and Cloud Engineer

We are looking for an exceptional Cloud and Dev Ops Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a vital role on our expanding Dev Ops team as we accelerate the cloud migration of our Records Management solution. • Design, build, and maintain Git Hub Actions CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of applications across multiple environments.
• Architect and implement deployment strategies, including blue‑green deployments, canary releases, and automated rollbacks.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Cloud Formation, AWS SAM, or Terraform to provision and manage AWS resources.
• Build and optimise containerised applications using Docker and orchestration platforms (ECS, Fargate, or Kubernetes).
• Design and develop scalable, event‑driven applications using AWS‑native services, including API Gateway, Event Bridge, Step Functions, Lambda, and SQS.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using Cloud Watch, X‑Ray, Data Dog, and other tools to ensure system health and performance.
• Automate security scanning, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with development teams to establish Dev Ops best practices, coding standards, and deployment workflows.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with strong Dev Ops practices.
• Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Git Hub Actions.
• Strong knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker) and container orchestration platforms.
• Experience with Harness, Helm, and YAML.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Cloud Formation, Terraform, or AWS SAM).
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages for automation.
• Experience with version control strategies, branching models, and Git Ops workflows.
• Strong working knowledge of Postgres, SQL Server, or other relational databases.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools in cloud environments.
• Understanding of security best practices in CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex deployment issues.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with Kubernetes or AWS ECS/EKS for container orchestration.
• Knowledge of advanced Git Hub Actions features, including custom actions, reusable workflows, and self‑hosted runners.
• Familiarity with infrastructure testing tools (e.g., Terratest, Local Stack).
• Understanding of event‑driven architecture patterns and serverless computing.
• Experience with artifact management and package registries.
• Knowledge of performance testing and load testing tools in CI/CD environments.
• Familiarity with AWS security services (IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS, Security Hub).
• Experience with cost optimisation strategies for cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes.
