Underwriting Support Assistant

The primary purpose of this position is to perform various clerical functions that support the clearance, entry, and assignment of submissions within the Specialty Division of Markel.

• Enter new submissions received via email.
• Send market block notifications to producers following outlined protocols.
• Understand and execute on assigned performance goals through prescribed training guidelines.
• Adhere to prescribed productivity and accuracy standards.
• Contribute to meeting service level standards set forth by department leadership.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with colleagues.

• High School Diploma required.
• 1–3 years of experience in underwriting, insurance operations, or related support roles.
• Strong written, typing, and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong team player.
• U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorship provided.
