We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Security Engineer to ensure the security, integrity, and operational efficiency of our Snowflake data warehouse environment.
This role focuses on implementing robust security measures, automating workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize data processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Snowflake administration, data security, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Security Administration
- Design, implement, and manage security policies and controls within the Snowflake environment.
- Monitor and audit user access and activities to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Develop and maintain data encryption strategies.
- Manage roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure data protection and compliance.
- Create and maintain automation scripts to streamline data workflows and administrative tasks.
- Optimize Snowflake performance through query tuning, storage management, and best practices.
- Leverage Snowflake features such as tasks, streams, and stored procedures for automation.
- Partner with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Snowflake-related issues.
- Conduct training and develop documentation on Snowflake best practices and security protocols.
- Implement and maintain monitoring tools to track Snowflake performance and security.
- Generate and analyze reports on system performance, security incidents, and usage metrics.
- Set up alerts and notifications for critical events.
- Stay current with Snowflake updates, security trends, and industry best practices.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in security, performance, and automation.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Snowflake administrator with a focus on security and automation.
- Strong understanding of Snowflake architecture, security features, and best practices.
- Experience with Azure cloud platforms and associated security practices.
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Snowflake certifications (e.g., Snow Pro Core, Snow Pro Advanced).
- Experience with data integration tools and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data privacy and protection regulations.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
