The Enterprise Data Lead is a newly created, high‑visibility role serving as the business champion for data governance, data quality, data definitions, and process standards across Helen of Troy. The leader will address legacy systems and data debt by shifting accountability from technical issues to process and behavioral solutions, driving data accuracy across all brands, regions, and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead data governance and policy, partnering with IT to align governance models, data architecture changes, and strategic policy updates; act as Domain Owner for Item Data.
- Define and enforce standard enterprise data definitions and business rules within ERP constraints to maximize operational efficiency.
- Develop and modernize core enterprise data processes (e.g., new item and customer setup workflows) to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Partner with IT to create data quality dashboards, key performance indicators, and automated exception reporting.
- Identify and remediate root causes of data issues, establishing incentive structures to sustain high data accuracy.
- Facilitate decisions between technical data integrity and business data accuracy, managing escalation pathways and cross‑domain conflicts.
- Own data governance processes, standards, access guardrails, and hierarchy maintenance as defined in the enterprise RACI matrix.
- Run and oversee Data Councils (item, customer, vendor levels), reviewing quality KPIs and resolving blockers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, MIS, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in master data governance, enterprise process design, or large‑scale supply chain/finance data operations.
- 5+ years of director‑level or senior cross‑functional leadership in a matrixed corporate environment.
- Deep background in master data governance, enterprise process design, and corporate supply chain and finance data operations.
- Experience aligning processes, core systems, and data governance frameworks across disparate business units.
- Hands‑on knowledge of ERP platforms (Oracle EBS preferred) and modern connected planning platforms (e.g., o9 Solutions).
- Proven ability to drive cross‑functional behavioral changes and establish accountability metrics without direct line authority.
- Track record in establishing data quality dashboards, automated exception reports, and system change guardrails.
- Capacity to join virtual meetings in early morning or evening for international calls; willingness to travel domestically/internationally (up to 20%).
- Must be eligible to work in the United States full‑time.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or an advanced degree in a related field.
