• The person will be directly responsible for sizing, designing, building, and delivering SAN and NAS storage
• The individual must be able to modify the designs via current tools and must be an expert at analyzing data within logically connected databases
• The supported business process areas include: engagement, architecture, transition, tools development, storage consulting, capacity planning, problem & change management, deployment management, performance and tuning, technical escalation ownership and formal account support
• The person must have the background and experience designing and implementing Storage Area Networks (SAN) & Network Attached Storage (NAS)
• Server platforms are typically some variety on UNIX and INTEL
• Preferred disk hardware experience is:
  1)
  DS8000, DS6000 & DS4000
  2)
  EMC DMX
  3) Clarion and
  4)
  IBM ESS
• Preferred SAN switch experience:
  1)
  Brocade
  2)
  Cisco,
  3)
  McData and
  4)
  Other Data backup (TSM & Veritas) service experience will be a plus
• In most environments the storage team is responsible not only for the storage infrastructure but also for the backup or data management services
• In any case, the data management tools often make extensive use of the SAN fabric
• On a day to day basis this person will receive storage provisioning requests, design the solution, carve LUNs and zone the request while taking into consideration server performance
• The current gap primary skillset is Experience in IBM DS8300 (Install, Configure, Monitor and Troubleshoot)
