We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our dynamic Technology department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT infrastructure and server management, with an understanding of both physical and virtual environments. This position requires communication skills, collaboration, a natural orientation to process analysis and optimization, and experience with data analysis and project management.

• Work with fellow associates to develop and build self‑service capabilities, to enable our internal customers to move quickly and deliver on the needs of the business.
• Collaborate with colleagues in design, product management, and systems architecture to develop experimental solutions and bring great ideas to life.
• Influence direction and provide technical leadership internally and externally to the team, offering innovative ideas that contribute to building win‑win solutions through continuous feedback and critique within an agile environment.
• Consult with internal customers and continually evolve the platform and its operations using solid engineering and agile practices.
• Stay on top of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve what we do and ensure our customer experience is the best it can be.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technology field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of work experience.
• Technical experience in infrastructure, build and deployment, including private and public cloud, networking, connectivity, storage, virtualization, and access control.
• Server OS:
  Microsoft Windows Server 2016+, RHEL 7+.
• Directory Services:
  Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
• Mentoring internal and external team(s) in platform management and reusable patterns and helping to solve complex problems that affect the organization.
• Experience handling project management responsibilities (prioritization, planning, scheduling, status reporting).
• Strong attention to detail, problem investigation and diagnostic skills.
• Passion for eliminating repetitive manual processes using automation.
• 1+ years of scripting or coding experience with one or more languages.
• Automation tools:
  Ansible Automation Platform, AWX, Terraform, Git Hub.
• Virtualization platforms:
  Microsoft Hyper‑V, Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV).
• Nutanix components:
  Lifecycle Management, Prism Central.
• Telemetry & Monitoring:
  Solar Winds, DCIM Software, Eco Struxure.
• Backup solutions:
  Veeam Backup & Protection.
• Microsoft legacy stack:
  Microsoft IIS, Microsoft MSMQ.
• CMDB tools:
  Net Box, Service Now.
• Azure IaaS knowledge.

Plano:
This role will be based out of the Car Max Dallas Tech Hub (Plano, TX) and associates will work onsite 2 days per week.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.

Annual salary: $92,200.00 – $. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Except as otherwise required by state law, Car Max Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.

• Full‑time hourly or commission/incentive eligible associates earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year (accrued per pay period) and between 80 and 200 hours of vacation time per year after a 90‑day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Full‑time hourly associates receive pay for 6 scheduled holidays per year plus one floating holiday, with holiday premium pay if working on a holiday due to business need.
• Full‑time salaried associates are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc., subject to manager approval.
