We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting Dev Ops tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Lead Platform Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

• Provide prompt and effective technical support to users, troubleshooting issues and answering questions
• Monitor system performance, security, and data integrity, taking proactive measures to address potential problems
• Stay up‑to‑date with the latest Google Workspace features and best practices, implementing updates and improvements as needed
• Develop and maintain clear documentation and training materials for users
• Focus on building and maintaining the underlying operational aspects of the platform including remediating vulnerabilities
• Monitor platform support Slack channels and address customer questions and issues
• Work closely with the Architecture team to align the platforms to latest architecture and configuration
• Encourage innovation, automation, implementation of cutting‑edge technologies, inclusion, outside‑of‑the‑box thinking, teamwork, self‑organization and diversity in a legacy process
• Develop, and utilize best practices to enhance the overall user experience of the platform
• Collaborate with the Software Engineers to ensure software works seamlessly on the platforms
• Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
• Continuously improve platform engineering practices and proactively identify risks and execute strategies that eliminate or mitigate those risks
• Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full‑stack of development tools and technologies
• Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
• Directly and indirectly lead teams of engineers and people leaders to build strategy for each platform and drive being Well Managed, the core goal at Capital One
• Utilize scripting languages like Python, Bash, and others
• Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
• Attack complex business opportunities by working with LOB stakeholders, leadership and your teams
• Collaborate on bigger initiatives to represent their impacts on your platforms and guide decision makers

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
• At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Git Hub, or Artifactory)
• At least 4 years of experience with AWS
• At least 2 years of team leadership experience
• At least 2 years of experience administering Google Workspace

• 5+ years of experience with AWS
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
