Job Title:
Mainframe Storage Administrator (Level
3)

Job Description:

Deep knowledge in storage DASD and z/OS (200+ ISV products)

Perform schedule backup for all files including z/OS system data, master and user catalogs

Perform routine backups with the help of Buyer’s backup tools on a schedule approved by the Buyer

Monitor the backup jobs for successful completion

Schedule and perform restore test to verify backup data integrity

Maintain z/OS backup process, also identify and enhance the procedures

Update the Mainframe Backup and Recovery documentation when there are changes to the backup system

Co-ordinate with application and business teams to maintain and update retention periods as required by the Buyer’s business teams

Define Storage tiering according to customers requirement

Provide DASD and tape allocation support

Administer and configure the storage parameters and ACS routine management

Provide support for restoration of datasets, new volume addition and increasing scratch tape count when required
