Your analytical thinking and A&D regulatory knowledge will ensure our solutions are both innovative and compliant.
Responsibilities:
- Services & Compliance Scope (via your teams):
- BA IT: services and support specific to the business area, outside of standard Corp IT offerings. This includes:
- Laptop and hardware provisioning for specialized configurations, program-specific builds, edge-case requests outside of Corp IT scope
- Server setup and maintenance for BA systems and program support environments
- Functional Support
- Lab management oversight: partnering with the lab manager on operations, capacity, and access. Guidance to Enterprise-wide expectations of Lab Manager job responsibilities
- System administration: setting job expectations, standards, and job scope for sysadmins across the engineering org
- CMMC compliance support and execution
- Program systems support making sure programs get the IT/infrastructure they need to deliver on an adhoc cadence
- BA IT: services and support specific to the business area, outside of standard Corp IT offerings. This includes:
Leadership & Business Responsibilities (direct to you):
- Manage, coach, and grow the leads and technical staff reporting to you. This includes career development, performance conversations, and building bench strength
- Own the budget for BA System Support. Participate in annual planning, defend it, and make trade-offs as necessary that respect cost, risk, schedule, and priority
- Advance the org's vision, identifying and driving initiatives to completion that is both valuable and cost-effective
- Represent the team in cross-functional forums. Defend and negotiate for what is best for the business, including pushing back on requests that don't serve program or BA outcomes
- Drive scalability, automation, and a common approach as the default; approve deliberate exceptions for appropriate business cases
- Balance the speed of the business against enterprise cost, risk, schedule, and priority. Resist both "everything is special" and "one size fits all"
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline
- Typically, 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, which includes 4+ years of management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing technical teams. Includes hiring, coaching, performance management, career development, etc.
- Working understanding of program-funded environments, including direct vs. indirect labor, program billing, and handling of sensitive data
- Track record of owning a budget and making cost/risk/schedule trade-offs
- Strong communication skills. Able to represent, defend, and negotiate on behalf of the team with cross-functional peers and senior leadership
- Technically aware, willing, and able to dig into the details when the situation requires it (not a hands-off manager)
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Background in IT, platform engineering, infrastructure, or systems administration. Enough hands-on depth to make credible technical calls and challenge your teams' designs
- Direct experience with CMMC (or NIST 800-171 / DFARS) compliance programs. Driving controls, evidence, and audit readiness, understanding of risk management.
- Experience managing BA-level or program-level IT functions that operate alongside, but distinct from, enterprise Corp IT
