SQL Database Administrator

Akkodis is seeking Senior Database Security Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Plano, TX/ Jersey City, NJ/Chandler, AZ - Hybrid (3 days on site in a Week). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.

Focus is enterprise database platforms and security

Overview of Role

• Senior Database Security Engineer
• Focus on:
• Automation
• Integration
• Platform engineering
• Cloud database security
• This is not project-based work
• Ongoing engineering and automation across environments

What HM Is Actually Looking For

• Senior candidates who can step in and take ownership
• Strong Python + database + cloud combination
• Engineers who are:
• Independent
• Hands-on
• Able to work in existing systems

Core Skills Required

• 10+ years experience
• Strong database background
• SQL Server and/or Postgres preferred
• Oracle is helpful
• Python (must have)
• Cloud experience
• AWS (RDS)
• Azure
• Linux + shell scripting
• REST APIs

Database Security Requirements

• Audit logging
• Encryption (in transit and at rest)
• Identity and access management
• Entitlements
• Password vaulting

Nice to Have

• Guardium or similar database activity monitoring tools
• Power Shell, Ansible
• CI/CD (Git Hub, pipelines)
• Jira, Horizon
• Exposure to newer automation tools (Copilot, etc.)
