Clearspan is seeking an experienced Solar Winds Administrator / Systems Engineer responsible for the administration, optimization, and continual improvement of the enterprise monitoring platform and supporting infrastructure. This role serves as the organization's Solar Winds subject matter expert while also supporting Windows and Linux servers, enterprise applications, virtualization, cloud services, and operational automation. The successful candidate will partner with the NOC, Engineering, Development, Customer Operations, and Security teams to maximize service availability and operational visibility.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Own the administration, maintenance, upgrades, security, backups, and optimization of the Solar Winds platform.
- Configure and maintain NPM, SAM, NCM, NTA, IPAM, SCM, Orion Platform, and Additional Polling Engines.
- Develop monitoring standards, dashboards, reports, alerts, and executive operational views.
- Design monitoring strategies for networks, servers, virtualization, databases, cloud platforms, UCaaS applications, SIP infrastructure, and Broad Works/Broad Soft environments.
- Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers.
- Support VMware infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, storage, and server lifecycle management.
- Support production applications, coordinate upgrades, and develop monitoring templates for internally developed software.
- Develop Power Shell and/or Python automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support SOC 2, customer audits, and security hardening activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience.
- 2 or more years administering Solar Winds in an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Experience with virtualization.
- Strong knowledge of SNMP, WMI, ICMP, REST APIs, Syslog, Net Flow, and SQL.
- Solar Winds Certified Professional (SCP).
- Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco certifications.
- Experience with Cisco Broad Works/Broad Soft, SIP, VoIP, and hosted UCaaS platforms.
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with Service Now, Remedy, Jira, or comparable ITSM platforms.

Success in this role will be measured through platform availability, monitoring coverage, reduction in false-positive alerts, successful completion of upgrades and maintenance activities, automation initiatives, documentation quality, incident response effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
Working ConditionsThis position may require occasional after-hours maintenance windows and participation in an on-call rotation.
