Luminator is seeking a Sr. Field Service Technician II to join our team. As a frontline representative, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in support of customer requirements and technical specifications, maintenance, and repair for all Luminator’s products to deliver an exceptional customer service experience. This role will advance the company’s technical resources by providing hands‑on technical services where needed and training other technicians to improve our field’s technical abilities.
The position will also be the face for implementation and installation of products across the OEMs that Luminator serves at several locations. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability.
Location:
Grand Forks, ND, and/or St. Cloud, MN. Role requires 50%+ travel and schedule flexibility. The team member will rotate across four sites:
St. Cloud, Crookston, Indiana, and Winnipeg, MB.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and maintain Luminator’s hardware and software, handling customer questions about the state of the system.
- Implement and assist with installation of new equipment on site with customers, providing on‑site training and support.
- Sustain proficiency in all products and services offered, staying current with installation standard methodologies, equipment protocols, and safety guidelines.
- Provide on‑site pre‑start‑up, startup, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Luminator products, ensuring equipment is operational and free of defects.
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions on equipment.
- Accurately document work performed at a customer facility, including periodic preventive maintenance and intermittent corrective maintenance tasks.
- Handle customer service‑related issues while fostering relationships and solving technical problems on site.
- Communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd‑party vendors, and other Luminator personnel in support of service operations.
- Define and advance training content for Luminator products and systems, supporting technical staff development.
- Develop and provide hands‑on training courses at operations as required, tailored to equipment types and local needs.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
- Review product prints and specifications.
- Participate in projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionalities for customers.
- Work with site management to ensure products are installed to specifications.
- Coordinate work with other groups to meet commitments.
- Document processes.
- Operate vehicles safely and use field systems appropriately.
- Follow all company procedures and protocols.
- Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Build positive relationships with customers.
