Legal Counsel Marketing and Advertising

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence 3 days a week in Plano, TX. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided.

Join Pepsi Co's dynamic Law and Compliance & Ethics team, where you will play a vital role in shaping business strategies while ensuring legal and ethical integrity. This position is an exciting opportunity to support our marketing and business teams in implementing innovative packaging, marketing, advertising, and promotional initiatives for our diverse range of US products. Your responsibilities will encompass critical legal evaluations regarding formulations, product claims, and consumer engagement, all while collaborating closely with talented individuals and partners.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Law for Pepsi Co Foods US.

• Provide expert legal guidance on food labeling, advertising, marketing, and promotion regulations.
• Deliver proactive feedback to minimize legal risks and protect Pepsi Co's reputation.
• Contribute to the FLNA product development process from concept to market launch.
• Negotiate and draft contracts with agencies, licensing partners, sponsors, and media entities.
• Lead training sessions for marketing staff on pertinent legal topics to enhance their understanding.

• The expected salary range for this position is $123,500 - $206,750.
• Your final salary will be determined based on location, skills, experience, and education, with specific ranges discussed by the recruiter during the hiring process.
• Eligible employees may receive a performance-based bonus, targeted at 15% of annual salary.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house setting focused on advertising, trademark, or food labeling.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required; must be licensed to practice in Illinois, New York, or Texas.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and engage stakeholders promptly to keep projects moving forward.
• Ability to clearly articulate the implications of business proposals.
• Proficient in understanding technical concepts related to nutrition to effectively support product claims.
• Exceptional organization and prioritization skills to handle a high volume of weekly requests independently.
• Strong advisory abilities relevant to all levels within Pepsi Co's organization.
• An innovative and supportive team player with a positive attitude, sound judgment, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with advertising and promotions through emerging media and social platforms is a bonus.
