We are seeking a highly motivated Global Trade Techno-Functional Analyst to support import compliance, tariff management, customs operations, and global trade technology initiatives across North American manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain operations. This role serves as the critical link between Global Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Manufacturing, Finance, and Information Systems teams.

The analyst will leverage expertise in global trade regulations, tariff classification, customs compliance, and trade management systems to ensure import activities remain compliant while minimizing duty exposure and supporting strategic sourcing decisions. The position will play a key role in evaluating the impact of evolving trade policies, USMCA requirements, Section 301 tariffs, anti-dumping duties, and other international trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities Global Trade Compliance & Import Operations
  • Support import compliance activities for vehicles, parts, components, tooling, and manufacturing materials.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Mexican customs authorities, and other global trade regulations.
  • Manage and maintain Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, country-of-origin determinations, and customs valuation methodologies.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal business partners to resolve import compliance issues.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impacts related to tariffs, trade agreements, customs requirements, and government trade actions.
Tariff Strategy & Duty Optimization
  • Analyze the impact of tariffs and trade policy changes on global supply chain and manufacturing operations.
  • Support tariff engineering, duty drawback, free trade agreement (FTA), and duty recovery initiatives.
  • Evaluate sourcing and supplier changes from a customs and tariff perspective.
  • Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to identify opportunities to reduce landed costs and mitigate tariff exposure.
  • Support compliance and qualification efforts related to USMCA and other applicable trade agreements.
Techno-Functional Analysis
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams supporting global trade applications.
  • Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional specifications and system solutions.
  • Configure and support Global Trade Management (GTM) and ERP system functionality related to import compliance and tariff management.
  • Lead business process mapping, gap analysis, and solution design activities.
  • Support testing efforts including system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and production validation.
Trade Systems & Data Management
  • Support integration between SAP, customs broker platforms, transportation systems, supplier portals, and trade compliance solutions.
  • Maintain trade-related master data including HTS classifications, country-of-origin information, supplier trade attributes, and customs records.
  • Ensure data integrity across trade compliance and enterprise systems.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation within trade operations.
Reporting, Analytics & Governance
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs related to import activity, tariff exposure, duty spend, compliance performance, and customs audits.
  • Perform data analysis to support executive decision-making regarding trade strategy and sourcing alternatives.
  • Assist with internal and external customs audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Maintain documentation supporting import compliance programs and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in global trade compliance, customs operations, international logistics, or trade technology.
  • Experience supporting import operations in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, industrial, or high-volume supply chains.
