Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize our national fleet operations across multiple states and approximately 200 vehicles. This role is responsible for developing and executing a fleet strategy that balances safety, compliance, cost-efficiency, and uptime. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of fleet logistics, vendor management, DOT compliance, and asset lifecycle planning.
Pay: $80,000-$100,000, Depending on Experience

Key Responsibilities Fleet Operations & Maintenance- Manage the full vehicle lifecycle, including acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement for all assets in Texas and the Eastern US.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are met to minimize downtime.
- Review maintenance trends and address recurring or high-cost issues.
- Approve and audit repair invoices for accuracy and budget alignment.
- Manage relationships with maintenance vendors and service providers.
- Drive inspection adoption and accountability across operations teams.
- Review daily/weekly inspections and implement maintenance protocols as needed.
- Serve as primary administrator for Fleetio
- Lead and maintain integrations between Fleetio and fuel cards, vendors, and other systems.
- Build standardized workflows and reporting to support compliance and leadership visibility.
- Partner with other Regional Fleet Manager and develop and manage regional fuel budgets for all locations.
- Monitor fuel usage, MPG trends, and exception reporting.
- Identify inefficiencies, misuse, or fraud and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with Finance and Operations on forecasting and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Support DOT and vehicle compliance requirements where applicable.
- Assist Safety with vehicle-related incidents, trends, and corrective actions.
- Maintain audit-ready fleet records.
- Track fleet KPIs and provide regular reporting to leadership.
- Ensure fleet maintenance and fuel spend remain within approved budgets.
- Support lifecycle planning and replacement forecasting.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, HR, and Safety teams to align fleet support with business goals.
Required
- 5+ years of experience managing a fleet of 200+ vehicles, including multi-state operations
- Deep knowledge of DOT compliance, fleet safety programs, and regulatory reporting
- Proven track record in vendor negotiation, cost management, and process improvement
- Experience implementing and managing fleet technology platforms (e.g., Samsara, Geotab, Fleetio)
Preferred
- Prior experience in waste services, logistics, delivery, or transportation industries
- Familiarity with light- and medium-duty vehicle types (trucks, vans, trailers)
- Strong analytical and project management skills
