ABOUT

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead on-site ready‑mix concrete operations supporting large‑scale, heavy civil and infrastructure projects. This is a field‑based, project‑driven leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient, and high‑quality execution of ready‑mix operations on long‑term job sites. This role is ideal for a leader with strong ready‑mix plant experience who thrives in dynamic project environments and is willing to travel or relocate as projects progress.

WHAT

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Lead all on-site ready‑mix operations for assigned project(s).
  • Manage Site Superintendents and field leadership teams.
  • Oversee batching operations, production sequencing, and material quality in alignment with quality control representatives and management.
  • Build and lead local project teams in partnership with assigned Human Resource personnel.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards from pre‑mobilization through demobilization stages.
  • Coordinate staffing, equipment, and production plans to meet project schedules, including internal personnel, equipment and third‑party vendors.
  • Serve as the on-site and primary operational point of contact for customers, vendors, internal shared services and partner contacts.
  • Work directly with the General Manager and support functions on the development of mid‑term and long‑term objectives for the business unit.
  • Translate and cascade objectives to measurable goals applicable for area of responsibility and is ultimately accountable for the successful execution of all approved strategies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree; industry experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Additional Education Preferred: Master’s degree;
    Project Management Certification (PMP)
  • Field of Study Preferred: Operations Management, Business, Civil or mechanical engineering or other related discipline or equivalent experience.

    7+ years
  • Preferred Training/

    Certifications:

    Project Management Professional, Six Sigma (Green or Black)
  • Required Technical

    Skills:

    Microsoft Office and SAP
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Proximity to Project(s) is necessary;
Travel determined by Project assignments; 40‑60% Travel.

ON‑SITE PRESENCE, TRAVEL & MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • On‑site presence is mandatory a minimum of 80% of the time, equivalent to 4 out of 5 workdays per week, including Fridays.
  • Extended workweeks are expected, with 6–7 day schedules likely during critical project phases, including weekends.
  • Proximity to assigned project sites is required to ensure consistent leadership presence and rapid response to operational needs.
  • Willingness to relocate—either temporarily or permanently—is a condition of employment based on project assignment and business needs.
  • Frequent travel is required to support project mobilization and demobilization, as well as to provide coverage during peer time off.
  • This role may require up to 80% travel, depending on project lifecycle and geographic assignment.
