Position: Senior Project Manager (Safety & EHS)

Summary

A global logistics and trading leader is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and manage safety-related projects across North American operations. This is a high-urgency role focused on enhancing safety performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing risk. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be a hands‑on "driver" responsible for reinforcing a culture of safety excellence at the ground level using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) principles.

Safety

Leadership

Lead the immediate implementation of Safety Management Systems following global occupational health and safety standards (High Emergency Status).

Field Inspection

Visit manufacturing and logistics sites to identify safety hazards, evaluate risks, and perform job hazard analyses.

Incident Management

Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and the implementation of corrective actions.

TPS Integration

Ensure that safety key points are integrated into Standardized Work and the Toyota Production System (TPS) framework.

Engagement Programs

Establish and lead employee engagement initiatives, including safety committees and Hiyari Hatto (near-miss) reporting programs.

KPI Monitoring

Establish and monitor facility safety KPIs using PDCA principles to ensure sustainable safety results.

Travel

High mobility required; 50% to 75% travel to various domestic and potentially international project sites.

Autonomy

High level of individual discretion to manage multi-month to year-long safety improvement projects.

Plano, TX or Georgetown, KY

Salary / Benefit

$100K - $125K + Bonus (DOE)

Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Experience

5+ years of experience in a safety-related role within a manufacturing environment.

Compliance

Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and risk assessment.

Certifications

CSP, ASP, or CIH certification is strongly desired.

Languages

English speaker;
Japanese or Spanish language skills are a significant plus.
