Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading all environmental, health, and safety programs within a manufacturing facility to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a strong culture of workplace safety. This role partners closely with site leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce operational risks, and support environmental sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all site EHS programs, policies, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop and promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Manage environmental permits, regulatory reporting, compliance documentation, and corrective action plans.
  • Oversee contractor safety programs and ensure adherence to site safety requirements.
  • Support sustainability initiatives, waste reduction programs, and environmental management systems, including ISO 14001.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to improve safety performance and operational efficiency.
  • Track EHS metrics, analyze trends, and recommend continuous improvement strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership experience managing EHS programs and personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, risk management, and incident investigation.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, sustainability initiatives, contractor safety management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM), Six Sigma, or root cause analysis methodologies is preferred.
