Principal Associate, Project Manager - Financial Services Data
As a Principal Associate Project Manager at Capital One, you will lead critical and strategic business projects that drive a direct impact on the company’s bottom line.
Key Responsibilities- Manage programs and portfolios for prioritized change initiatives.
- Drive projects based on defined priorities, ensuring scope, timelines, budget, risk identification and mitigation.
- Plan, design, and manage project plans covering feasibility, design, planning and implementation.
- Maintain key project documentation and leverage problem‑solving skills to deliver on intent.
- Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership.
- Forge relationships with stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments and alignment on intent.
- Identify ways to improve and streamline business processes.
- Apply proven project management frameworks, quickly establishing structure to manage work.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and influence outcomes.
- Demonstrate agility to adapt to changing demands and display strong consulting and collaboration skills.
- Solid technical background with ability to identify and mitigate technical risks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills bridging technical and non‑technical teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with a structured, analytical approach to holistic solutions.
- Ability to simplify technical complexities and facilitate informed decisions.
- Execution focus: tracking dependencies, accountability, and delivering results.
- High emotional intelligence, active listening, and empathy for teams and partners.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office or G‑Suite.
- At least 2 years of Project Management, Process Management or Relationship Management experience.
- 2+ years managing technical programs or complex technical projects.
- 2+ years supporting data‑intensive solutions or distributed computing environments.
- 2+ years with Agile delivery frameworks.
- Experience tracking cross‑functional commitments and managing dependencies.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment.
- PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certifications.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related technical field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering.
Minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries:
Plano, TX – $109,900 to $125,400. Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives. Comprehensive health, financial and other benefits support total well‑being.
