Job Description
A client is seeking an Automation Lab Supervisor for a contract position based out of Plano, TX. This supervisor will oversee a team of 6 individuals ranging from lab technicians, designers to mechanical engineers and will play a crucial role to ensure projects are being accomplished and on schedule. Some of the daily responsibilities include coordinating all lab (in-house) efforts around prototyping, manufacturing, and field trials of automated kitchen equipment.
They will also oversee the general maintenance of the lab including reconfiguration and maintenance of equipment, execution of prototyping/manufacturing/testing activities, and 5s/lean process implementations. Strong communication, project management, leadership and technical skills are required to be successful in this position. Lastly, this individual needs to have strong documentation skills of standards and processes to deliver automation projects and drive lab operations.
This role will be roughly 50% management and 50% hands on.

Skillsand Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in automation, machine-building, or fabrication environment
- 5+ years' Supervisor/Manager experience leading daily operations of a team
- Proven skills with fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of equipment in a highly automated environment
- Strong Project management skills - Experience leading goals, maintaining accountability, and improving efficiency Lean Manufacturing culture (Kaizen, 5s, Six Sigma)
- Manufacturing Engineering background
- Strong documentation skills
