Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are currently recruiting for a Finishing Operator to join our team! As a Finishing Operator, you are the final line of defense for quality before our labels reach the customer. You will be responsible for operating high-speed finishing equipment to slit, seam, inspect, cut, and rewind printed labels and flexible packaging. This role requires a versatile, detail-oriented professional who can seamlessly pivot between different finishing machinery based on production needs.

Schedule:

Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm

Important Applicant Note — Please Read:
This is strictly a stationary machine operation, precision assembly, and quality control position. This is NOT a warehouse, material handling, or forklift operator role. Forklift experience is absolutely not required, nor will forklift operation be a part of this position. We are looking exclusively for production operators focused on machine setups and visual inspection.

Responsibilities
  • Receives job assignments from Manager, Supervisor or Lead; reads job specifications/jackets to ensure all finishing, seaming, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed.
  • Operates a variety of finishing equipment, including slitter-rewinders, inspection machines, and seaming machinery (converting flat film into shrink sleeve rolls).
  • Monitors the flow of material through machines to detect irregular cutting, winding, or seam alignment.
  • Sets up and monitors solvent application systems during the seaming process, performing regular bond‑strength and layflat measurement checks.
  • Ensures strict quality of work to include color, size, die cut, layflat dimensions, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped.
  • Uses strobe lights or automated inspection systems to identify and remove printing defects, flags, or splices.
  • Safely removes, replaces, or adjusts blades, forming guides, and tooling on inspection and converting machines.
  • Assists in the cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs.
  • Completes required production paperwork for each job and securely boxes finished goods with accurate labeling.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Detecting seam misalignment on a roll moving at high speeds.
  • Versatility and adaptability:
Eager and able to learn multiple finishing processes (rewinding, seaming, slitting, and inspecting) and rotate tasks daily.
  • Comfortable working with tools for setups, changeovers, and making minor mechanical adjustments to machinery.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Strong grasp of basic math and measurements (fractions and decimals) and the ability to read a ruler or caliper accurately. (Both standard and metric)
  • Previous experience in a printing, labeling, packaging, or manufacturing environment is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic.
