Layout Technician

Cates Control Systems, in Plano, TX is looking to hire a Layout / Staging Technician. Joining the Cates team is both challenging and rewarding. You will become an important member of a very talented and dynamic team within our industry. If this sounds like you, please read on!

• Login to the appropriate software database based on the project number as shown on the drawings.
• Check out all hardware from the parts staging area.
• Layout all hardware and materials according to the drawings provided.
• Drill and install all parts onto the back panel.
• Make sure all empty boxes are kept until the job ships.
• Make sure all paperwork for each part is kept with the panel.
• Cut/Hole-punch enclosures according to the provided drawings.
• Install all required hardware on the enclosure.
• Locate and designate any hardware that needs to be “loose shipped” with project.
• Return any unused hardware for the back pan or enclosure.
• Complete the layout check sheet supplied with drawings.

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 2 years prior experience preferred
• This position requires a significant amount of bending and standing
• Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds at any time
• Ability to read wiring schematic
• UL508A and NEC experience
• Good project and time management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

• Shop is open Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
• Work schedule:
  
  Monday through Friday, 8-hour shift, overtime available.
• Weekend availability:
  Saturdays from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Overtime pay available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.

• Layout Technician: 2 years (Preferred)
• hand tools: 2 years (Preferred)
• UL508a: 1 year (Preferred)
• read wiring schematics: 1 year (Preferred)
