The Commissioning Coordinator provides field and technical support to commissioning efforts across tenant colocation data hall fit-out projects at Megawatt Construction. This entry-level role focuses on supporting system readiness, documentation, and testing activities while developing a foundational understanding of commissioning processes in mission-critical environments. The Commissioning Coordinator works closely with Commissioning Engineers and Managers to gain hands-on experience and build the skills necessary for career progression within the commissioning team.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Assist with equipment walks and system readiness verification to support commissioning milestones.
- Support documentation gathering, organization, and checklist completion for commissioning deliverables.
- Assist with startup witnessing, functional testing, and general field support activities.
- Track and help manage deficiencies, including field follow-up and status updates.
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support commissioning activities.
- Attend commissioning and coordination meetings, capturing notes and tracking action items.
- Learn system operations, testing logic, and overall commissioning workflows in a mission-critical environment.
- Support multiple projects as needed, depending on workload and project demands.
- Follow company commissioning standards, processes, and safety requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent technical training or experience will also be considered.
- 0-2 years of experience in construction, MEP systems, or a related field (internships or co-op experience a plus).
- Basic understanding of construction environments or mechanical/electrical systems is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop technical skills in a fast-paced field environment.
