About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team in Plano, TX. This position is responsible for operating industrial saw equipment to accurately cut materials according to work orders and production specifications. The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication shop, understands the importance of precision, and is committed to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate band saws, cold saws, or other industrial cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret work orders, cut lists, production drawings, and measurements.
- Measure, mark, and cut materials to precise specifications.
- Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Maintain proper identification and organization of materials throughout the production process.
- Load, unload, and move materials safely using proper lifting techniques or material handling equipment.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
- Assist with other shop and production duties as needed to support daily operations.
- Previous experience operating industrial saws in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment is preferred.
- Must be able to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Must be proficient in using common hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, impact drivers, wrenches, and measuring tools.
- Ability to read work orders, production drawings, and cut lists.
- Strong math and measuring skills with the ability to make precise cuts.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
- Experience cutting aluminum, steel, or other metal materials.
- Experience in a fabrication, machine shop, or manufacturing environment.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Experience using overhead cranes or other material handling equipment is preferred.
- Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with heavier materials moved using equipment or team lifting.
- Exposure to machinery, metal materials, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.
