- The Grader - Linen at Goodwill Industries of Dallas Inc will be responsible for evaluating and sorting donated linen items to ensure quality standards are met. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission to provide job training and employment opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the quality and condition of donated linen items, including sheets, towels, and other fabric goods.
- Sort and categorize linen items based on quality and usability for resale or recycling.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards for linen grading and sorting.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize the grading process and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of graded items and report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Support Goodwill's mission by contributing to the overall success of the linen sorting and grading operations.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to linen grading.
Required
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a not-for-profit or charitable organization is preferred.
- Experience in handling, sorting, and grading linens or similar materials.
Required
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail to ensure quality control of linens.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational skills to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy loads of linens.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to handling materials.
