Position Summary
Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (SEA) is a leading technology company focused on mobile technologies, consumer electronics, home appliances, and enterprise solutions. The Director of Social Media and Culture will shape and define Samsung’s brand in the U.S. while driving revenue growth across mobile product categories such as smartphones, PCs, tablets, and wearables.
Role & Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of an integrated owned social media and influencer/creator strategy across organic social, creator, nano, and members programs.
- Craft and sustain cultural relevance that increases brand engagement, creates high‑volume social conversation, and showcases Samsung innovation through human‑powered storytelling.
- Collaborate closely with Samsung’s internal teams in Korea, cross‑functional partners, carriers, and retailers to align global‑local strategies and maximize amplification.
- Partner with agencies and the paid‑media team to create playbooks that grow platform presence and leverage high‑performing organic content.
- Own the full influence mix (nano to macro to celebrities) and adapt strategies to evolving creator ecosystems.
- Develop and maintain a global social media calendar, KPI scorecard, and content performance dashboards that link brand and commercial contributions.
- Negotiate contracts, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with legal, finance, and procurement requirements.
- Identify synergies with carrier and retail accounts to support their commercial goals.
- Serve as the primary contact for all communications assets, advertising, promotional materials, and PR inputs related to social media initiatives.
- Provide thought leadership on brand storytelling and trend analysis across all social platforms.
- BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, or business management.
- 12+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 10 years of GTM execution across social media, influencers, and talent.
- Strategic thinker who challenges the status quo and delivers actionable recommendations.
- Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to influence at the executive level.
- Experience negotiating complex deals with large, international brands and technology platforms.
- Ability to think quickly, make decisions with limited information, and present confidently to senior leadership.
- Project/program management experience in an agency or agency‑partner environment.
