Youth Ministry Coordinator (Part-Time)
St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church – Plano, TX

15–20 hours per week

About the Position

St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church is seeking a joyful, faith-filled Catholic to serve as our Part-Time Youth Ministry Coordinator. This position supports the Director of Youth Ministry in forming middle school and high school students as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ.

The ideal candidate has a heart for relational ministry and enjoys investing in the lives of young people through authentic relationships, discipleship, mentorship, and evangelization. This role focuses primarily on ministry presence while providing occasional administrative support as needed.

As our ministry continues to grow, this position has the potential to expand into a full-time role.

Responsibilities Relational Ministry
  • Build intentional relationships with middle school and high school youth.
  • Foster welcoming, Christ-centered environments where teens encounter Jesus Christ.
  • Mentor students through conversation, prayer, and discipleship.
  • Welcome and connect new youth and families to parish life.
Program Support
  • Assist with weekly youth ministry gatherings.
  • Lead small groups, discussions, prayer experiences, and Bible studies.
  • Give talks, testimonies, and presentations as assigned.
  • Assist with retreats, conferences, service projects, summer programs, mission trips, and special events.
  • Support the formation of teen leaders and volunteers.
School Campus Ministry
  • Assist the Director in building relationships with students and faculty k Catholic School.
  • Support campus ministry opportunities, school outreach, and faith formation activities.
Volunteer & Family Engagement
  • Encourage and collaborate with Core Team members and volunteers.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and families.
  • Maintain a welcoming, joyful, and visible presence before, during, and after ministry events.
Administrative Support
  • Assist with registrations, attendance, event preparation, and ministry materials.
  • Help prepare parent communications and support volunteer coordination.
  • Provide general administrative assistance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Youth Ministry and/or the Pastor.
Qualifications
  • Be a practicing Catholic in good standing who faithfully lives and supports the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Demonstrate a vibrant personal prayer life and commitment to ongoing spiritual growth.
  • Have a passion for evangelizing and accompanying young people in their faith journey.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Be comfortable speaking to groups and leading discussions.
  • Be proficient with basic computer applications and willing to learn parish software.
  • Have 3–5 years of youth ministry experience (preferred).
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required); equivalent ministry experience will be considered.
  • Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.
  • Musical ability for praise and worship is a plus but not required.

  • Some weekends and holidays
  • Retreats, conferences, mission trips, and other special parish events
  • Additional hours, including overtime when applicable, may be required during conferences, retreats, and major ministry events.
