Position Summary:
The Parish Life Coordinator plays a vital role in evangelizing and nurturing the parish community by handling reservations for ministries and groups, overseeing many of the parish-wide events and collaborating closely with ministry leaders who celebrate, support, serve, and empower our diverse parish community. This position fosters the mission and vision of the parish through active leadership, and support of parish life programming.
This is a part-time (24-28 hours per week), non-exempt position, requiring frequent evening and weekend availability, which could grow into a full-time position depending on the right candidate.
- Embody a missionary spirit by actively living and promoting Catholic teachings and serving the parish with humility and dedication.
- Fosters leadership within parish ministries by regularly engaging with volunteer leaders, quarterly, bi-yearly, and as needed, serving as a primary liaison for reservations, questions regarding room availability, etc.
- Plan, organize, and execute parish events such as Our Lady of Guadalupe novena, Living Nativity, Taste of St. Mark, and similar type of events/activities throughout the year in partnership with ministry leaders and staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Faith Formation and Parish Life or the Pastor.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written) required for this position to best minister to the leaders of the parish ministries and groups.
- 2–3 years of previous parish ministry or volunteer experience (paid or unpaid) preferred.
- Dependable, flexible, and mission-focused team player with the ability to manage diverse responsibilities, meet deadlines, and adapt to parish and community needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Parish Data System (PDS) a plus.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, living in accordance with Church teaching.
- Experience collaborating with volunteers
- Strong communication skills with timely response to calls and emails.
