Position Overview

Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU RN)

Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Plano, Plano, Texas

Shift: Full-time nights, 12‑hour shifts (3 days on, 12 days off)

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience

Adult Mixed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care with a heavy Neurological Component

Patient ratio: 1:2; 32 beds.

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting to reach desired outcomes.
• Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism.
• Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower healthcare choices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community to develop care plans, delegate tasks, and follow up.
• Employ problem‑solving strategies, recognizing limitations and prioritizing safety, effectiveness, and efficiency.
• Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, and contribute to peers’ development.

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience.
• RN license required.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of start.
• Knowledge of nursing laws, hospital procedures, and medical terminology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, EMR, email).
