Department Specifics90% BSN required;
National Nursing Certification preferred but not required. Opportunity for BSWH to pay upfront for selected certifications. ACLS required and may be completed post‑hire. Multi‑disciplinary rounds focus on length of stay and readmission rate. Shared Governance promoted with Unit Based Council. As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Understand patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Essential Functions of the Role- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
- Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
- Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
- Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
- Collaborate with colleagues and community to develop care plans. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
- Use problem‑solving strategies with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in care planning and delivery.
- Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth. Contribute to peers’ development and demonstrate community service commitment.
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines, and hospital procedures and rules.
- Proficiency in medical terminology concerning health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects.
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
- Exceptional communication skills for clear expression in verbal and written forms.
- Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with diverse parties.
- Excellent problem‑solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.

Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2.5 years of Acute Care Hospital Experience.
- Specialized field of study: nursing.
- RN license.
- BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of starting.
