Nurse Manager

In this technical and fast‑paced nursing position, the RN provides professional and technical care to assigned patients, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and supports the mission, vision, and values of Methodist Health System.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Additional department certifications as required.
• Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of a Nurse Residency Program.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and nursing standards.

• Registered Nurse with the ability to render highly professional and technical nursing care.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Accountable for performance and proactive in professional growth.

• Communicate clearly and openly with patients, families, and team members.
• Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment and a winning team.
• Direct and supervise assigned team members while using the nursing process.
• Assist in the educational process for patients, families, and significant others.
• Ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration.
• Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for patients, staff, and the facility.
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Take personal responsibility and initiative for performance and professional development.
• Follow unit standards of care and nursing process to maintain quality patient care.

Time and effort are spent standing (20 %), walking (60 %), sitting (15 %), climbing (2 %), bending (20 %), kneeling (2 %), crawling (1 %), reaching (30 %), handling (90 %), talking (90 %). Normal indoor environment with no driving required.

Exposure includes blood and body fluids, respiratory irritants, skin irritants, wet work, electrical equipment, sharp utensils, and exposure to body fluids.
