The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Orthopedic (MS Ortho) registered nurse for an Ortho Trauma specialty medsurge role in Plano, Texas. This position supports patients with orthopedic and trauma‑related conditions, contributing to safe, patient‑centered care on a medical‑surgical unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

• Schedule:
  
  Nights, 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • 1 year MS experience
  • Ability to provide Ortho and/or Trauma patient care
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ortho and/or Trauma patient experience
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care for Ortho and Trauma patients, including polytrauma patients and non‑surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine
  • Support care for trauma patients with downgraded TBI and other orthopedic/trauma diagnoses as described for the unit
  • Participate in unit workflow and teamwork to support safe patient care (team player fit)
• Additional Information:
  • Unit supports patient ratios of 1:5 with flexibility to 1:6
  • Typical on‑unit needs include care for patients with no more than 3 drains and burn downgrades
  • Heparin and Protonix drips may be required per unit needs
  • Floating:
    All MS units
  • Dress code:
    Royal blue scrubs
  • Weekend commitment: 4 weekend commitments
  • Staffing notes include daytime and nighttime charge/clinical staffing as part of unit operations
