Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Plano Prestonwood location. This full‑time Monday–Friday position (8:30am–5:00pm) requires no weekends, call, or major holidays. The role supports the Infusion Department.

Work Environment and

Physical Requirements

The work environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other common oncology/hematology clinic conditions. The candidate must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., stand, walk, and handle patients. Corrected vision and hearing to a normal range are required.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care according to established standards.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
  • Administer all medications/blood products with correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
  • Secure pre‑authorization and consent forms before therapy administration.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating doses, and consulting physicians regarding dosage modifications and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the state board in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Entry‑level (0–3 years experience) – oncology experience strongly preferred; or
  • Three or more years of nursing experience – oncology experience strongly preferred; or
  • Five or more years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.
