Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Plano West location. The position is full‑time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with no weekends, on‑call, or major holidays.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)

The LTIP is an incentive program that typically vests over three years and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary, based on position, performance, and potential for future career growth, and require continued employment through the award payment date.

Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) Role

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards for specialty regulations. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient and family needs, maintaining compliance with the US Oncology Program and the Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under a physician’s direction and supervision.
  • Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating doses, and consulting the physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications Level I
  • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
  • RN state license with current registration with the state board of nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements.
  • 0–3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level II
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level Senior
  • Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.
  • Oncology certification preferred.
Working Conditions

The work environment involves exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical Requirements

Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination are required. Standing and walking for extensive periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs, are part of the role. Corrected vision and hearing to a normal range are also required.
