RN House Supervisor

Days PRN

Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano, Plano, TX.

As the RN House Supervisor at Acute Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano in Plano, TX, you will be responsible for staff management and coordination of nursing service activities for the scheduled shift in accordance with the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, and policies to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care. You will also communicate effectively with other shifts to provide continuity of care.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES
  • Manage guidance and counseling activities for staff on the designated shift.
  • Oversee nursing care and execution of nursing and hospital policies during the scheduled shift.
  • Coordinate activities of the nursing service through floor nurses.
  • Review nursing staffing patterns, check attendance, and revise the daily staff schedule as necessary.
  • Assist in interpreting hospital policy and state law related to the nursing service.
  • Participate in hospital safety procedures and programs.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in nursing service records.
  • Inform the Chief Clinical Officer or Nurse Manager of nursing activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
  • Recommend purchase of supplies and equipment required for the nursing service.
  • Conduct routine nursing service checks on staff, timecards, equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Provide recommendations to the Chief Clinical Officer to hire, promote, suspend, and terminate nursing service employees.
  • Maintain and assist in orientation programs for new employees.
  • Investigate and report complaints.
  • Enforce and audit staff on a consistent basis regarding infection control procedures.
  • Demonstrate a high level of nursing skill and leadership ability.
  • Exhibit good communication skills.
  • Understand hospital policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Registered nurse (RN) required.
  • Current ASL CPR Certification required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in nursing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed.
  • Strong written and verbal skills required.
