Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic and trauma patients in a fast-paced Med/Surg unit. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and recovery through clinical expertise and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, including Heparin and Protonix drips, and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient progress, treatments, and procedures accurately in the EMR system.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and escalate concerns as necessary.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, dress code, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in Texas or applicable state.
• Possess at least 1 year of med/surg nursing experience, preferably with ortho and trauma patients.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Meditech EMR or similar electronic health record systems.
• Exhibit strong team collaboration and communication skills.
• Must be flexible to work 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM shifts, including weekends and on-call commitments.
• BLS certification required; ORtho/Trauma experience preferred.
