American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho Trauma night shift position requiring 1 year of Med/Surg experience and BLS certification.

• Ortho Trauma Specialty Med/Surg unit within a 36-bed hospital setting
• Patient population includes polytrauma, non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine/ortho/trauma with downgraded TBI, and burn downgrades, with no more than 3 drains
• Manages Heparin and Protonix drips
• Utilizes telemetry equipment
• Meditech EMR
• Standard patient ratio of 1:5 with flex up to 1:6
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend commitment required
• Floating required to all Med/Surg units
• Must arrive on the unit by 6:45 PM for shift huddle

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Ortho and/or trauma patient experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide Med/Surg nursing care to ortho and trauma patients within a specialty unit
• Work alongside a team of 1 charge RN, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs per shift
• Team-player mentality valued for best fit with unit culture
• Royal Blue scrub attire required
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
