- 5:00 p.m. There is an on-call after 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday, every six weeks at one time a week.

Job Summary

As an LVAD Coordinator RN, you'll be a certified part of our healthcare team, coordinating patient care. You will manage evaluations, admissions, and discharges for LVAD patients. Using the nursing process, you'll assess conditions, create care plans, evaluate responses, and track outcomes.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Prioritize patient and family needs before implementing care plans.
  • Evaluate nursing practices regularly and advocate for changes based on research evidence when needed.
  • Manage patient discomfort, alleviate suffering, promote healing, and prevent pain. This requires both emotional and physical care.
  • Protect patients' confidentiality, dignity, and rights.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and the community to improve care.
  • Work with others to create and follow care plans, promoting teamwork and common goals.
  • Problem-solving and efficient resource use show your systems thinking skills are crucial.
Key Success Factors
  • Deep knowledge and skill in nursing, specifically for long-term mechanical heart support devices.
  • Managing patient care with ventricular assist devices is vital.
  • Educating staff and caregivers on device use is also crucial.
  • Good communication and teamwork are key assets.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree.
  • Minimum (2) two years in relevant field.
  • RN License.
  • BLS or must obtain within 30 days of being hired.
