• Minimum: $17.91 - $18.81 per hour (Park Maintenance Worker I)
• Maximum: $21.50 per hour (Worker I) / $22.57 per hour (Worker II)

• Mow and maintain turf and landscaping; prune and trim trees and shrubs; remove weeds, litter, brush and debris from assigned areas.
• Inspect, clean and maintain tools and equipment; operate power equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
• Assist with projects including sod installation, seed installation, tree planting, and minor landscape renovations.
• May operate riding mowers; experience preferred. May assist with set-up and support of special events.
• Support special events by assisting with set-up and logistics as needed.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule.

• Knowledge: Routine construction, repair and landscape maintenance methods; tool and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Skill: Clear verbal and written communication; operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools; ability to follow instructions.
• Education: Park Maintenance Worker I:
  No formal education required. Park Maintenance Worker II:
  High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Park Maintenance Worker I:
  Six months of experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, or construction required. Park Maintenance Worker II:
  One year of experience required.
• Licenses: Valid Class “C” Driver’s License (must obtain Texas Class “C” within 30 days of hire).

• Must pass a drug test, driver license check, criminal history background check, periodic CJIS background check (if applicable), and Social Security number verification.

• Mobility to work in and around City buildings, parks and facilities; ability to perform light to medium physical work; ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without equipment.
• Exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dust, hazards, and fumes; may require fieldwork and standing/walking in operational areas.

• $175 annual boot allowance and $175 annual jean allowance after successful completion of a six-month probation.
