Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Overview

Animal Clinic of Farmers Branch offers a $1,500 travel stipend for Clinical Year Externships.

Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to:

• Gather patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Conduct diagnostics
• Provide dentistry services
• Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures
• Manage patients medically
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students are encouraged to participate. Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
