Orano Med, a subsidiary of Orano USA, is at the forefront of research in nuclear medicine and is developing new therapies against cancer. Based on its unique expertise in the extraction and purification of lead‑212 (Pb‑212) and radiolabeling technologies, Orano Med is developing innovative Pb‑212‑based treatments that selectively destroy cancer cells while limiting the impact on surrounding healthy cells.
Under limited supervision, the chemist is responsible for manufacturing products inside a traditional chemistry lab. These products support the business catalog, custom synthesis business, as well as the GMP business.
Key Responsibilities- Manufactures batches following a batch record.
- Scales batches from bench scale to kilo scale.
- Synthesizes custom compounds and documents process and procedures in formal filing.
- Performs in process testing and evaluates results, specifically with HPLC.
- Proposes solutions to all chemistry problems.
- Supports process development under guidance of senior chemists.
- Acts as backup to lab technicians and lab specialists, as needed.
- Leads and trains other chemist.
- BS degree in Chemistry, plus 6‑8 years of related experience. An advanced degree may substitute for 1‑2 years of work experience.
- Ability to adhere to lab safety and quality standards.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
